Sean Moran is a marketing and media executive with a proven history of dynamic leadership and exponential revenue growth generation.

He has unique, high-level relationships in the media, entertainment, sports, music, & finance worlds both domestically and internationally. He keynotes on business innovation in the media industry at universities and Fortune 100 companies. Since June of 2020 Mr. Moran has been running a portfolio business, Carpe Diem Holdings, LLC, which has him advising, supporting and investing in various start-up businesses, both inside and outside the media industry. Some of these companies include Religion of Sports, IF7.co, Brightland.co, Whipnotic.com, Home From College, Epicenter Experience and RYFF, an ad tech company specializing in virtual product placement, where he also served as executive chairman. He is a founding investor in Lunch Partners, a private network of investors made up of leading marketers. Most recently Moran served as a Senior Advisor for PE firm, ISOS Capital. Prior to launching Carpe Diem Holdings, Moran was the President of sales and chief architect of Paramount Global’s (then Viacom’s) advanced advertising capabilities where he led a team of 800+, responsible for the $3.6B annual domestic ad sales budget. In his role Mr. Moran was reporting to the CEO and overseeing all advertising and marketing sales for some of the biggest entertainment brands in the world, including Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, VH1, AwesomenessTV and Pluto TV. Mr. Moran led the Ad Solutions team that developed innovative, data-driven creative solutions for advertisers across all platforms including linear TV, digital, social video, branded programming, influencer marketing, shopper marketing, virtual reality and live events. Mr. Moran is a pioneer in advanced advertising solutions, having overseen the creation of Vantage, now Paramount Global’s industry leading data and prediction engine which continues to set new standards for revenue growth and marketing effectiveness through best-in-class audience insights, predictive modeling, continual optimization and measurement.

  • He is also credited with introducing a new streaming platform to the Upfront marketplace, transforming Pluto TV into the largest AVOD service in North America. Under his guidance, Viacom was a founding member of OpenAP, (Openap.tv) the industry’s first open platform for cross-publisher advanced audience targeting and independent measurement. Mr. Moran also oversaw Viacom Velocity, the company’s full-service creative studio, which seamlessly integrated brands into the cultural conversation with custom content across all of Viacom’s platforms and experiences. Mr. Moran was also part of a team that created one of the first commercial offerings in the now-termed “meta verse” with the launch of MTV’s “Virtual Laguna Beach.”

    Over the course of his career, Mr. Moran’s ability to connect with partners and audiences alike has led him to develop and maintain deep, successful relationships with the world’s leading brands and advertising agencies. Mr. Moran’s accomplishments have been recognized throughout the media industry with such awards as AdWeek’s “50 Most Indispensable Media Executives,” AdWeek’s “Top Marketing & Tech Players,” and AdWeek’s “Most Innovative Marketing Pioneers.” He was also recognized by the National Kidney Foundation’s for their “Award of Excellence” and the John A. Resienbach Foundation’s “Distinguished Citizen Award.”

    Mr. Moran has been a board member of the Ad Council, Vice-Chairman of the Video Advertising Bureau (VAB), a member of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), and currently sits on the advisory board of Fiver Children’s Foundation, a comprehensive youth development organization that empowers children from underserved communities. He also serves on the advisory council for the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music. A former professional basketball player in the Welsh and Portuguese leagues, Mr. Moran has also served as an advisory board member of Peace Players International (PPI).
